For the fifth year running, National Craft Bakers’ Week is back to bring together the passionate baking community from all over the country and celebrate craft baking in the local community. Here at BAKO, we are extremely proud and excited to be supporting this fantastic national event and we hope that you too, will be joining us for the week-long celebration.
The event, organised by The National Association of Master Bakers and The Scottish Association of Master Bakers, aims to provide support for local bakers across the UK. From Monday 7th October – Sunday 13th October, many high street bakers all over the country will be taking part to showcase their passion, pride and commitment to the craft baking industry. During the week, members of the Great British public are invited to taste, sample and purchase a variety of handcrafted cakes, pastries and breads from Britain’s skilled craftsmen and women.
As one of the leading suppliers to the catering industry, BAKO North Western see National Craft Bakers’ Week as an exciting opportunity for local bakers to gain vital recognition for their businesses. All bakers taking part will receive a ‘How To Get Involved’ guide and POS material for their shops, including posters and bunting, to help them promote their business in the local community and online. Access to these benefits costs just £5.00 per business, with proceeds going to the event’s Charity partner, The Teenage Cancer Trust.
This year’s National Craft Bakers’ Week also comes with star-studded support from TV’s Fabulous Baker Brothers, Tom and Henry Herbert, of Hobbs House Bakery in the Cotswolds. The Brothers will be hosting a baking masterclass where one lucky national competition winner will receive expert advice from two of the industry’s leading craft bakers.
Commenting on their passion for this year’s ‘Love Your Baker’ campaign message, encouraging local communities to support their bakers, Tom and Henry stated:
“There is rightly a great feeling of pride about British food at the moment and National Craft Bakers’ Week is a great way to remind everyone that bakers are very much part of this story. Baking is a real skill and one that we need to celebrate and support.”
