Bakers get into the Easter spirit!

We’re sure for many people it has been a long, hard lent trying to resist all their favourite indulgences, but Easter is now in our midst and thanks to the bakers of the North West there will be lots of Easter treats to tuck into over the weekend.
We’ve seen a whole host of mouth-watering twists on Easter gifts this year, so with less than a week to go, here are some of the most unique ideas we’ve stumbled across so far.

Lizzie Loves Cakes in Cheshire has created this egg-cellent selection of Easter cake pops, including Easter eggs, Spring animals and the Easter bunny himself. We appreciate the intricate detail that has gone into decorating each one, from the sugar strands used for the lamb’s wooly coat, to the sugarpaste polka dots on the eggs and the mini egg topped Easter nests.

Peter Herds cakes

Peter Herds cakes have put together a huge variety of Easter themed treats, but our favourites have to be these Easter egg sheep. The expert chocolatiers have put a unique spin on a classic, using half an Easter egg as the body of their Easter gift ‘Susie Sheep’. We particulary like the swirled effect of the piped icing used to create the sheep’s wooly fleece.

Cake Candy have combined two favourites here, creating a mix for mini egg cookies! Presented in a keepsake jar, this clever gift idea for amateur bakers literally couldn’t be any more fool-proof, as all the ingriendents you need for the perfect cookies are provided and pre-measured! We can only imagine how great these would taste, with the amazing contrast between gooey cookies and crunchy mini eggs.

Gills Cupcake Corner have created this selection of cupcake toppers, delicately designed and moulded from sugarpaste in Spring pastel colours. Our favourite is the Spring duckling placed on vibrant green grass-effect icing.

The Chocolate Café

The Chocolate Café have cooked up this clever concept of Easter themed chocolate pizzas. Milk chocolate topped with shavings of white and orange chocolate create the base for the ultimate pizza topping – mini eggs!

Hey Little Cupcake

Crème eggs baked into gooey brownies have to be the ultimate indulgence this Easter and a total chocolate lover’s dream! The concept and design may not be too complicated, but that certainly doesn’t take anything away from how delicious they look.
