BAKO prepares for the spring wedding season

19 March, 2013

It’s not just major events like Mother’s Day and Easter that bakers have to prepare for during the spring, it’s also a particularly popular season for weddings.

This makes for a busy time of year for BAKO North Western, as a key supplier of an extensive range of Renshaw ready to roll icing varieties in addition to our BAKO own label sugar paste products.

So as the sugar paste starts flying off our shelves, we’re celebrating by taking a look at some of the most innovative and spectacular wedding cake ideas we’ve seen so far this year.

Fresh fruit showstopper from Marie Antoinette Cakes

For newlyweds that really want to make an impression, it would be difficult to think of anything with a greater impact than this fresh fruit laden cake from Marie Antoinette Cakes. Three layers of artfully arranged white chocolate cigar-shaped spirals, ribbon detail and generously stacked summer fruits make this one of the most decadent cakes we’ve ever seen.

French sophistication from Miss Macaroon

For a lighter touch, macaroons like those from Miss Macaroon make a perfect alternative to the traditional wedding cake. Macaroons are also incredibly versatile, as they can either be displayed in a tower or wrapped individually and served as wedding favours and come in a huge variety of colours and flavours.

Vintage chic cupcake tower from Cup Cake Café

Cupcakes are growing to become a much more common sight at weddings, as served on a multi-layer cake stand, they act as a simple alternative to a complicated tiered wedding cake and don’t need to be sliced. We especially love the intricate paper cases and buttery yellow hues of these wedding cupcakes from Cup Cake Café.

Elegant lace from Kiss Me Cupcakes

Kiss Me Cupcakes have created a beautiful version of the traditional three tier cake with this baby blue, ice white and pale cream cake adorned with lace bordering and simple rose details for a lovely yet unfussy finish.

Sadly, there are many more incredible designs we’ve had to leave off our list, but we would love to hear what wedding wonders you’d create with BAKO’s extensive range of baking ingredients. Get in touch with us on Twitter at @BAKO_NW if you fancy sharing.
